Gossip from the livery yard

 


It's been quite the week here at the livery yard, we've seen tractors moving field shelters, you'll remember some of them got blown over during the storms, hopefully that won't happen again!

The show ponies, yes there are posh show ponies here, came back from their first show of the season with ribbons, apparently a most successful outing as they've now qualified for a show they wanted to go to.


 The oldest resident, Little Lady had a close call with the vet. She got choke which prevented her from swallowing her food and had to have tubes put up her nose and water poured down them to remove the blockage. But she's okay now which is a good job really because Monty needs her now.


Shock of the week was Rosie going to a new home


everyone says she's very happy in her new home which is of course lovely but poor old Monty was a bit bereft when she went. Fortunately Little Lady's kind owner came to the rescue by suggesting that Monty shared Little Lady's field so now the two OAPs bimble around together munching grass. 

All's well that ends well!


And as for myself Eggsy Pony, well I've had a good week, thank you for asking, just don't mention head collars or stables.

Seeking Share Care Friends

During a conversation (via Ko-fi) about the frankly frightening rise in price of animal feed since Brexit / Covid Susan from Frugaldom mentioned that she was hoping to find some "Share-Care" families to help with the cost and physical care of the ponies she has rescued, (if you live in the Dumfries and Galloway area of Scotland and this appeals to you please get in touch with Susan .) She wondered if this was something that we might be able to adapt for Eggsy. Being on a livery yard it would be difficult to have lots of different people coming to care for Eggsy, and, although he has lots of friends from all over the world hardly any are local to us. Also we don't really need the physical help, the whole family mucks in if needed. It sounded like a great idea but probably not one that would work for us. Moving to a livery yard

Hello this is Eggsy Pony's new blog  where we're going attempt to keep you all enthralled with Eggsy's adventures and those of his friends.  If you've read the last blog post on Eggsy's old blog Overcoming Adversity A Pony's Tale you'll know that over the last two years things have changed dramatically for us, as they have for many.  Due to changes made by our landlord we were forced to relocate the horses to a livery yard while Hansel the goose and Gingee the "yard" cat have had to come home to live with us in the garden and house respectively. Moving day was 19th January, Boo and Pip went first, they travelled well and settled remarkably in their new stables whilst waiting for Maddie and Eggsy to arrive. That's when the trouble started.
